'Man blir så glad...' shows mixed media and glass jewelry by Pia Forsström. The common thread for the works in these very different techniques is color joy. The exhibition is shown July 13-18 in the small gallery at Roddarhuset in Vaxholm.

In her paintings, Maritta portrays crowds, glamor and joy in a detailed and whimsical way, allowing even the most attentive eye to find something to linger on and delight in.

During a few hours in our kitchen at Vaxholms Bed & Breakfast you will learn the secret of baking really juicy cinnamon buns. You bake together with others who have also booked a place in the group, at most 6 people can participate. We end the day by tasting your buns.

The City of Vaxholm is organizing an Elderly Festival to highlight and celebrate our older people in Vaxholm. During the week, a variety of activities will be organized, e.g. dance, singing, sports, film screening, bridge school, vernissage, exhibition and dialogues on welfare technology, market at Lägret.

As part of the Vaxholm Elderly Festival, Vaxholms Församling organizes a garden café in the vicarage garden with musical entertainment and quiz by Christina Nordstrand with musicians.

Ulla Parkdal is 85 years old this year. She wrote the book "To weave a life" in 2022, the story in words and pictures about how weaving and artistic creation is a strength in life's challenges. September 7 - 19 she shows her breadth and 50 towels she has enjoyed weaving!

2024 Culture Night, the thirteenth in a row, will be celebrated on Friday 11 October, with a few events also on 12 October. All events are free but some require a ticket. Tickets are available on September 30 and can be picked up at the Library or at the Tourist Office.
