Elderly festival in Vaxholm

Vaxholm City is organizing an Elderly Festival 26 August - 1 September - to highlight and celebrate our older people in Vaxholm.

During the week, a variety of activities will be organized, such as dancing, singing, sports, film screening, bridge school, vernissage, exhibition and dialogues on welfare technology, market at Lägret, lots of opportunities to try a variety of activities and parade from Lägret to Söderhamnen.   

Our seniors here in Vaxholm are a large group and the festival is a way to draw attention to that but also to draw attention to the seniors that there is a lot in Vaxholm to occupy themselves with both actively but also if you want to contribute as a volunteer, functionary or member of an association.

The business community is informed that there will be a festival and many are hooked and want to participate in different ways through various offers or tasting or their desire to be visible and reach out to seniors (65+).

The aim of the festival is to provide opportunities and conditions for seniors to find meaning and well-being in their everyday lives, but also to be able to contribute themselves. By inviting senior associations, associations in general and sports clubs, companies, businesses, schools, churches and other organizations, they can also be seen and highlighted for seniors.

Everyone is needed in Vaxholm, regardless of age. Together we will help to meet the demographic challenges we are facing.
